Statement
Natalia De Negris is an Argentine ceramic artist whose practice is rooted in the relationship betweenmatter, territory, and ancestral memory. She holds a degree in Fine Arts and has spent years
investigating the history of pottery across ancient civilizations — Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and
pre-Columbian — as a way of understanding clay not as a craft material, but as a living archive of
human gesture.
Her work is distinguished by the exclusive use of clays sourced from different regions of Argentina,
each carrying its own mineral identity, colour, and geography. She works with natural pigments —
charcoal, coffee, earth, yerba mate — treating them not as surface decoration, but as the chemical
signature of each territory. Her only tools are her hands and a rolling pin: a deliberate choice that
ensures no intermediary stands between her pulse and the material.
Natalia works from her own studio and showroom in Puertos, Buenos Aires Province, where she also
teaches, transmitting the craft
