The awards of this year's fair were awarded:

  • The “GRASSI Prize of the Carl and Anneliese Goerdeler Foundation Fund”, endowed with €3,000, goes to Sonngard Marcks for her fascinating painted porcelain and faience painting.
  • Heinz-Jürgen Gerdes (Friesische Wollweberei/Coastland Zetel) receives the “smow Design Prize”, endowed with €2,500, for his wool fabrics created on analog weaving machines.
  • The €2,000 “GRASSI Prize of Sparkasse Leipzig” goes to Jeongyn Hyun, who paints with needle and thread on soft fabric and brings modern everyday scenes to life.
  • The €1,000 “Apolline Prize” goes to Leipzig-based ceramicist Karl Lobo for his modern ceramic works, which move between mural and object.
  • The “Grassifreunde Prize”, endowed with €1,000, goes to Andreas Rier for his glass works, which are created in a hot glass oven. Some of them are blown into wooden molds, others are free-formed.
  • The “Gemma GRASSI Prize” will be awarded for the first time this year, with a non-cash prize worth €4,000. The prize was awarded to Sabine Steinhäusler, who impressed the jury with her excellently crafted delicate pieces of jewelry.
  • The “Jan Willems Prize”, endowed with €1,500, will not be awarded this year; the prize money will be used to purchase a piece for the museum.

In addition, the “GRASSI Young Talent Prize of the company culturtraeger” will be awarded at Burg Giebichenstein/ Kunsthochschule Halle. This year, it goes to Louis Steinhauser and Arman von Heyden for their project DIGIT - an open source finger prosthesis.
