Carl and Anneliese Goerdeler Foundation Fund Award 

Since 1997, the Grassimesse is sponsored by the Carl and Anneliese Goerdeler Foundation Fund. The charitable foundation was established by the descendants of Leipzig’s mayor in 1995. In memory of the brave resistance of Carl Goerdeler during the Nazi regime and the closeness of his wife Anneliese Goerdeler with the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts, the award was launched to promote outstanding achievements in the field of applied arts. The award is endowed with 3.000 €.
 

Grassi Award of the Sparkasse Leipzig 

The Sparkasse Leipzig is a Grassimesse sponsor since 1997. The Grassi Award of the Sparkasse Leipzig aims at promoting contemporary art, craft and design. An engagement beyond this helps to put the hosting of the Grassimesse on a secure financial base. The award is endowed with 2.000 €.
 

smow Design Award of the Grassimesse

At smow everything revolves around designer furniture as well as the furnishing of contemporary living and working environments. Through its involvement in the Grassimesse, smow aims to support young talent in the field of furniture design and help them break into the premium furniture market. To this end, smow will cover the fees for five exhibitors at the Grassimesse. In addition, smow will award the smow Design Award, established in 2023, which is endowed with 2.500 €.
 

Jan Willems Award

Rosemarie Willems from Rotterdam (NL), a collector who has been associated with the museum for a long time, is donating an award in memory of her father Jan Willems since 2022. The award is intended primarily to support craftspeople and designers working in the field of wood. The award is endowed with 1.500 €.


Apolline-Award 

This award is granted by the family Lyscov-Saucier from Brussels since 2011, which is devoted to the decorative arts in its many facets. The award is an example that cultural promotion does not always have to be institutionalised, but can also be motivated by private commitment. The award is endowed with 1.000 €.


Award of the Grassifreunde

The Freundeskreis GRASSI Museum für Angewandte Kunst e.V. (Friends of the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts) established another prize in 2018. This award is a dedicated step towards the special promotion of the Grassimesse, which has been an important concern of the Freundeskreis since the Grassimesse was re-founded in 1997. The award is endowed with €1,000. With further financial support from the Freundeskreis, works by the prizewinners will be acquired where possible.


Grassi Award for Young Talents

The Grassi Award for Young Talents, financed by culturtraeger, is granted every year for the best graduation piece created by a design student at  Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. The creation concerned is showcased at the Grassimesse and featured in a CityCards postcard edition. In addition, it will be purchased by the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts in Leipzig to be included in its collections.
 

Gemma Grassi Award - Visions for Jewels

With a non-cash prize worth 4,000 €, the company Ole Bergmann (Berlin), which specializes in gemstones, aims to give the use of jewels a new contemporary impetus. The award is given to jewelry artists and designers who develop innovative approaches for the gemstone that is central to their work. The aim is to reinterpret jewels and reintegrate them to a greater extent into the current artistic debate.
