Statement
YCCIJ (You Can Call It Jewellery) explores jewellery beyond traditional typologies, positioned between ornament, object and personal artefact. Since 2017, my practice has focused on reworking existing materials and jewellery pieces into new contemporary forms that carry traces of previous use, memory and transformation. The submitted rings are part of an ongoing series of reconstructed works created through dismantling, layering and reassembling recycled silver, stones and found elements. Rather than aiming for polished perfection, the pieces embrace rawness, asymmetry and material tension.
Inspired by relics, organic structures, erosion and bodily fragments, the works question conventional ideas of value, permanence and adornment. Jewellery becomes something intimate and evolving — shaped through touch, time and emotional attachment.
