I see my work more in the artisanal, creative, experimental realm and more as goldsmithing or a work of art than as a product that can be copied. My writing instruments are meant to tell a story and inspire writing. I would describe the design as minimalist reduced with a touch of implied longing for distance, history and extravagance. Precious metals, fish leather, native and exotic woods, ebonite and gemstones ..are used. The techniques of metal turning, wood turning, goldsmithing and gemstone setting are required in the making. I design matching sleeves, which are made in Kyoto / Japan from historical and modern kimono silk . I make numbered unique pieces and smallest collections.
