Statement

When I began my studies in Kassel in 2000, there were two ceramicists who influenced me in my ceramic work. My great-grandfather Otto Lindig, who studied at the Bauhaus, and Walter Popp, who taught in Kassel from 1954 until the 1977s. The focus of my work is vessel assemblages. Forms grow that could not be created from a single piece if it were turned freely. I am not interested in the most complicated form possible, but in working with it very precisely. Ultimately, my work is always about space and its aesthetic exploration: about the relationship between inside and outside with the means and in the medium of the ceramic vessel.
