I´m applying as a member of the group Swedish Material Makers. We are 5 artists working with international exhibitions and exchange programs within the contemporary craft field. Our group started 2011 with a Swedish-German exchange in Schleswig-Holstein. Since then we have continued to exhibit together. http://www.swedishmaterialmakers.se
My ceramic work focuses on clay as a site-specific material. In my work process I’ve returned to the site where I have dug wild clay for twenty years. The same clay has historically been used for locally produced bricks in the Skåne region.
I explore the tension between the power and sensitivity of the material and I'm also interested in the ceramic variation in expressions of the ferrous clay, depending on the firing. I use wheel thrown parts from the vessel that I deform in different ways. I’m a trained potter with a master's degree and run my own studio in Malmö since 2001. I work with objects, installations and different kind of assignments
