FOLDING STRUCTURES is the theme of a new hat series that reinterprets old fabric techniques.
It explores what different structures created by folding do to a hat shape. Quite common fabrics such as loden, velvet, cotton were "folded" in different ways, using old sewing techniques, such as smocking.
Besides different structures, it was important to experiment how the play of light and shadow changes a shape. What emerges from the hat shape through the plastic shaping of the fabrics? The first results of the explorations are ready, but the theme has not yet been fully exhausted.

In Venice, I discovered Palazzo Pesaro degli Orfei and Mariano Fortuny and Henriette Negrin. I was fascinated by their visionary ideas. The wonderful textiles multicolored hand printed on cotton or the pleated silk fabrics impressed me very much, especially the Delphos dress. What revolution was this dress with the flowing body-hugging appearance in the fashion of1905? Fortuny fabrics are still produced at Guidecca today. Thus, a special hat series was created from it. The hat models were chosen by me in such a way that the fabric used is particularly well accentuated in the form. As a homage to the Delphos dress, I designed two models from pleated silks.
