Statement
FOLDING STRUCTURES is the theme of a new hat series that reinterprets old fabric techniques.It explores what different structures created by folding do to a hat shape. Quite common fabrics such as loden, velvet, cotton were "folded" in different ways, using old sewing techniques, such as smocking.
Besides different structures, it was important to experiment how the play of light and shadow changes a shape. What emerges from the hat shape through the plastic shaping of the fabrics? The first results of the explorations are ready, but the theme has not yet been fully exhausted.
