Charlotte Pohle

Charlotte Pohle understands her artistic work as materialized concepts of cognition. To want to assign the associated handle to the recognition is her starting point, from which the concrete is dissected, examined, reassembled or left as a fragment. The fractures remain and form spaces for humor, melancholy, and self-assertion. In Pohle's work, the material has a transformative character: her personal history becomes an iconography of the private, which enters into a triangular relationship with intimacy and publicity and is examined. The focus on oneself, linked with the hope that this will create a communicative added value. Charlotte Pohle exposes the general as a game of hide-and-seek or a detour she decides against. This act of deprivatization represents her foray into the archetypes of the collective unconscious, as understood by C.G. Jung, and she thus attempts to connect her own culture of memory with the narratives of the viewer(s).
