Statement

The artist's examination of the cultural-historical content of her childhood in Upper Swabia inspired her to create the series of twelve APOSTEL. Sculptural-looking vases that, due to their size, are associated more with figures than they are reminiscent of vessels in the true sense. The series plays on the opulence, excess and decadence of the Baroque lifestyle while entering into an amusing dialogue with contemporary themes. These apostles (from Greek apóstolos for "envoy") are given titles such as "Heavenly Stormer", "Drunkenness", "Sputnik", "Grace" ... and thus encourage reflection on cultural/human values.
